- W2393611469 abstract "【Objective】To investigate the effects of ethyl puruvate on expression of SOD,NO,iNOS of hippocampal regions in rats with global cerebral ischemia reperfusion injury and provide the evidences for further study. 【Methods】The models were made by transient bilateral occlusion of the common carotid artery (CCA) and hypotension lasting for 10 min according to the method of Smith. Twenty-four male Sprague-Dawley (SD) rats weighing 300~400 g were randomly divided into 3 groups (n=8,respectively):Control group (F group),only exposed three arteries. ②Ischemia reperfusion group (IR group),bloodletting (lowered the blood pressure to 50~60% of base value) and transient occlusion of the bilateral common carotid arteries for 10 min. Ethyl pyruvate theraphy group (EP group),the same technique as IR group. EP (40 mg/kg) was immediately administered in EP group by intraperitoneal injection after ischemia-reperfusion. Saline water was administered in the other two groups by the same procedures. 6 hours later, the rats were sacrificed and brain tissues were isolated for the test of SOD,NO,iNOS factors by color matching method and for histopathological examination (Light microscope).【Results】The levels of SOD,NO,iNOS,in IR group were higher than those in F group (P 0.05). But compared with IR group, the levels of SOD were increased and NO,iNOS in EP group were decreased (P 0.05). The number of injury cells (Light microscope) in IR group was obviously increased compared with F group, but decreased in EP group.【Conclusion】Ethyl Pyruvate can defend the brain ischemia reperfusion injury by alleviating the oxidative stress reaction." @default.
