- W2393620392 abstract "A study of Eucalyptus dunnii plantings on 3 different hilly mountainous sites,in Jian'ou City,indicated that adaptability and characteristics of rapid growth were strong for E.dunnii,and that it could tolerate temperatures down to-4℃ for short periods.At the end of the first year average height was 3.1 m,and after 8 years average height and DBH reached 9.5 m and 10.3 cm respectively,achieving the standard of fast-growing and high-yielding eucalypt plantations in the general production area of Fujian Province.The afforestation survival rate achieved 92.6% by 3 different treatments.At the age of 8 years,the impacts of slope position on the survival rate and conservation rate of E.dunnii were not significantly different.The stand conservation rate of each treatment achieved 85.7%～88.2%.Different altitudes(slope position) led to large significant differences in the height and DBH of first-year E.dunnii and in the DBH and volume of 8 th-year E.dunnii.The fastest growth by E.dunnii was found at mid-slope and downhill positions at altitudes under 200 m." @default.
