- W2393925242 abstract "Considering the two key factors,i.e.the prestressing force and internal pressure,the form-finding results of triangular,rectangular and hexagonal ETFE cushions were obtained by ANSYS software.The theoretical formulae of rectangular and circular cushions were derived.A MATLAB program for calculating cushion's volume was written and then used with ANSYS together to analyze the deformation and stress distribution in the foil of a rectangle cushion under 7 load cases.The parameters such as the rise,foil thickness and rise-to-span ratio of cushion were investigated,and the relationships between stress distribution and the rise,foil thickness and rise-to-span ratio of the cushion were obtained.The reasonable foil thickness and rise-to-span ratio were proposed and inflating pressure values for cushions with deferent span were suggested.Finally,the diaphragm effect of ETFE cushion was researched.Some conclusions for ETFE cushion design are drawn by the study of this paper.Initial prestressing stress of ETFE foil should be within 5~8 MPa.Foil thickness should be one layer 0.2 mm or two layers 0.4 mm based on the span of the cushion.The cushion rise-to-span ratio should be about 0.1.After the formation of the cushion,the maximum stress is in the central area and the minimum stress is in the corner area.The cushion's initial inflating pressure value is within 250~1 150 MPa,which will decrease with the increase of span.A common span(4 m×5 m) ETFE cushion with the initial internal pressure of 500 Pa can resist normal positive and negative wind pressures,uniform and half-span snow load,and occasionally concentrated load.But under overloading conditions,the cushion needs to be inflated to keep working.ETFE cushion has a significant diaphragm effect." @default.
