- W2393977273 abstract "Objective To study the relationship between serum adiponectin and insulin resistance in obese adolescents.Methods Height and body weight were examined in 940 students of 13～14 years-old.47 were selected as the obese group(BMI were=95th percentile of age-and sex),and 50 as control group.Blood pressure,fasting blood glucose,insulin and serum adiponectin were determined,and HOMA-IR was calculated.The subjects' body composition was measured by dual energy χ-ray absorption(DEXA).Results There were significant differences between two groups in blood pressure(P0.05),BMI(P0.01),HOMA-IR(P0.01),trunk fat(P0.01) and serum adiponectin(P0.05).In a general multivariate regression,trunk fat and HOMA-IR were significantly independent determinants for serum adiponectin concentration.Conclusion Serum adiponectin of obese adolescents were lower and negatively correlated to body fat and insulin resistance." @default.
