- W2417130134 abstract "Objective: The study aimed to identify occupational learning motivation in students of the Vocational School of Health Professions and effective factors on learning motivation. Material and Method: The study was carried out among undergraduate students of Marmara University Vocational School of Health Services throughout Spring Semester of 2009-2010 academic years. Occupational Learning Motivation Scale was used to determine motivational learning of undergraduate students. Results: The study results indicated that undergraduate students have high occupational motivation and the primary effective factors on their motivation were associated with occupational competencies. Students who had graduated from occupational high schools of health professions have higher intrinsic motivation than the other students. Intrinsic motivation and motivation problems of the students vary in different departments of the vocational school of health services. Although intrinsic and extrinsic motivation, and motivation problems showed no significant difference according to year of education, students at evening education classes had higher extrinsic motivation scores and less motivation problems than formal education students. Conclusions: It should be considered that occupational learning motivation is important factor for occupational competency and self-directed learning of undergraduate students in the vocational school of health services. Defining appropriate learning strategies and creating appropriate learning environments compatible with purposes of clinical education may decrease motivational learning problems." @default.
