- W2417710003 abstract "Rheum palmatum L. is a kind of traditional Chinese medicine which is famous for its application on intestinal disease. A novel chemically bonded urea linked peracetyl-β-CD silica based stationary phases was synthesized and a chromatographic method in reversed-phase liquid chromatography mode was established to separate anthraquinones from Rheum palmatum L. The novel β-CD stationary phase was synthesized according to the method of click chemistry and was packed into a stainless-steel column (150 mm × 4.6 mm I.D.) [1]. A fraction of Rheum palmatum L. extraction which was eluted with 60% alcohol aqueous on the non polar porous resin was selected as study object. The pharmaceutically relevant compounds in Rheum palmatum L. are anthraquinone derivatives, a significant character of the anthraquinones is the absorption under 400 nm caused by carbonyl group [2]. Thus, after optimizing the chromatographic condition, we compared the same chromatography spectrums under 400 nm and 300 nm and comparison was carried out between C18 and β-CD phases. From the primary result we found that the anthraquinones were mostly eluted between 14 minute and 24 minute, other compounds were almost eluted before 10 minute. However, anthraquinones were co-eluted with other compounds on C18 phase. The result indicated that the novel β-CD phase had good selectivity and clustering effect in the separation of the anthraquinones from Rheum palmatum L. References[1] Guo Z. M., Lei A. W., Liang X.
