The beliefs, values, norms and cultural products of societies are shaped through a very long process. Therefore, cultural awareness necessiates a certain time of education. Art works give important information about culture and have extremely important roles in cultural relations. So, this study through an effective teaching of art criticism, tries to develop students esthetic values and the importance of art criticism. Discussion and Conclusions: The teaching of art criticism, with its steps of description, analysis, interpretation and assessment is a method by means of which students will gain esthetic experience, and make explanations through this end. But an art work with its rich ingredient makes it possible for us to benefit more from it. The cultural image and symbols in an art work gives important information about the culture. Art criticism to be made using this feature of art, will be of benefit to primary and secondary education level students. However, for an effective and quality art criticism, visual art teachers should be given in-service training, especially those who have not yet received such an education" @default.
