- W2461070760 abstract "The aim of this study was to tackle empirically a problem of competing apparent linkages between moving dots. The problem is brought up in a situation in which the visual system recovers a local structure (i. e., a pair-wise structure) from its moving elements, in particular, a structure from the “biological motion”. An experiment was performed to examine the effects of changes of spatial distance between moving dots on perceived strength of linkage between the moving dots, using the methods of clarity rating of perceived linkage between two pairs of moving dots. The results indicated that the proximity of the spatial distance between the dots in a 2-D projection plane did not always have dominant effects on the perceived strength of the linkage, and that the change of the spatial distance between the dots during their motion had crucial effects. These results were applied to a human gait perception with point-light display." @default.
