• W2461897029 abstract "ABSTRACT One of the most important criteria of non stress test is fetal heart pattern. This study was conducted to compare two anxiety reduction interventions, relaxation and maternal fetal attachment techniques, on fetal heart rate, number of accelerations, and non stress test reactivity. In this clinical trial, 126 pregnant women were randomly selected and divided into three relaxation, maternal-fetal attachment skills, and control groups. Before the interventions, a demographic questionnaire, maternal-fetal attachment (Cranley) questionnaire, and written informed consents were filled out. The intervention groups took part in one 60 -90 minute class every week for 1 month. Besides, home practice charts were given to mothers, and the researchers controlled the home practices by phone calls weekly. On the other hand, the control group received the routine prenatal care. In the 4th week, NST was performed in the intervention groups (30 minutes before and after the 4th session). In the control group, NST was done in the 4th week and Cranley test was also completed again at the end of the study. The results of paired t-test (p=0.01) showed that relaxation improved the NST results; however, these changes were not observed in the attachment group. Basal fetal heart rate significantly reduced in both relaxation (p=0.001) and attachment groups (p=0.01). Also, the number of fetal heart accelerations increased in both relaxation (p=0.001) and attachment groups (p=0.01). In addition, a correlation was found between the Cranleys score and fetal heart rate (p=0.02). It could be concluded that relaxation improved the NST results. Besides, both relaxation and attachment decreased the basal fetal heart rate. Also, both interventions could enhance the number of fetal heart accelerations." @default.
