- W2479300820 abstract "Chemical behavior of five neutral and one cationic bridge-head nitrogen atom-containing fused ring systems with three extra heteroatoms either in the five- or in the six-membered ring is reviewed. Some theoretical calculations are cited concerning some azide-tetrazole equilibrium as well as selectivities of alkylation. Among the structure elucidation methods, 15N-NMR data for numerous derivatives are provided. The reactivities discussed involve ring contractions and enlargements, most of these occur under photolytic or flash vacuum pyrolytic conditions. Ring opening of the six-membered moieties can lead to azolyldienes, whereas opening of some fused-tetrazoles at the five-membered ring proceeds via nitrogen elimination. Some new triazaphospholes are also discussed. Ring syntheses to tetrazolo[1,5-a]pyridines are classified according to procedures involving azide–tetrazole equilibrium, intramolecular 1,3-dipolar cycloadditions, and closure of the pyridine ring. Synthetic procedures to triazaphospholes and pyrrolotetrazines are also reviewed. In cases of the most interesting transformations some mechanistic details are also provided." @default.
