- W2487924927 abstract "Voltage-type Modified Gamma (Γ)-source inverters are proposed in this paper for hybrid electrical vehicles. Z-source inverters are planned for output voltage or current buck-boost ability. Even though there are some boundaries in the Z-source inverters, they are not flexible to provide continuity to inductor currents and also requires low modulation index to produce high gain output. In Z-source inverter switching stress is more, which leads to increasing size, weight and cost of the converter, which are undesirable. In order to minimise such disadvantages, a new methodology is proposed, which uses magnetically coupled transformers or inductors to raise the gain and modulation ratio concurrently, with reduced components. Compared to other topologies, the suggested Gamma (Γ)-source inverters shows matured characteristics in many aspects and the coupled transformer also produces high-gain and modulation ratio at the same time. In future the Gamma (Γ)-source inverters will become an alternative for Z-source inverters because of these advantages. Reducing the size and weight of vehicles further by reducing battery size is also possible by using a modified Gamma (Γ)-source inverters. The modifications in Gamma (Γ)-source inverters with performance are explained and tabulated clearly in this paper. Performance of proposed topology with R-Load, open loop and closed loop operation of Fuel Cell-Battery operated hybrid vehicle with induction motor as a propeller is validated using MATLAB/SIMULINK software." @default.
