- W2488332986 abstract "This project reflects the type of qualitative research based on a study of simple case where the object of study is the use that the students from grade 11 A of Institucion Educativa Lestonnac located in the city of Pereira make of Facebook. The theoretical bases that support this study are directed towards the formal and informal learning, connectivism, social networks, Facebook, pedagogical uses of Facebook, collective intelligence, networked society, etc. With authors such as Castells (2001) who explains the changes that have resulted from the development of ICT in society, Pose (2012) who defines and classifies social networks, Adell (2012) describing the value of the contributions of each person on specific topics, etc. These theoretical bases, helped to support each of the arguments presented to development this research and provided a solid foundation to validate the results obtained in this study which show the need to change the look of traditional education and focus on the uses of ICT and social networks in the educational process. Moreover, a survey was used through the Google Drive tool for students and teachers who went to the object study group to achieve the objectives set for this research. In addition, an screen capture was made to students while they were using Facebook, also a checking of each participant profiles was made and a focal group to students and teachers in order to have more information according to the data recollected by the surveys.
