Small unmanned aircraft systems (UAS) often collocate batteries and processors such that both release heat into the shared enclosure. Successful mission completion depends on consuming sufficient energy to power physical actuators and computational resources. In this paper, a multidisciplinary cost function is proposed to balance cyber and physical resource utilization for a pipeline inspection case study while considering thermal degradation cost. Optimal solution characteristics and tradeoffs are demonstrated over different cost function weightings and Pareto front analysis is performed to investigate how to best achieve CPS mission goals while preventing overheating." @default.
