- W2510774998 abstract "The present work declares a novel contribution to the development of new core-shell nanocomposites based on titanium dioxide nanoparticles and terpoly(aniline, anthranilic acid, and o-phenylenediamine). TiO2@terpoly(aniline, anthranilic acid, and o-phenylenediamine) (TiO2@PANI-AA-o-PDA) core-shell nanocomposites were synthesized by 2:2:1 molar ratio of the particular monomers using various percentages of nano-TiO2 via oxidative ter-polymerization. The structure of the TiO2@PANI-AA-o-PDA core-shell nanocomposites were confirmed by FT-IR spectroscopy and UV–Vis absorption spectra. A plausible thermal behaviour for the pristine terpolymer and TiO2@PANI-AA-o-PDA core-shell nanocomposites was discussed. TiO2@PANI-AA-o-PDA core-shell nanocomposites were thermally more stable than the pristine terpolymer. The core-shell feature of the nanocomposites was proved by transmission electron microscopy (TEM) with the mean core size 18 nm, and the shell size between 15 nm and 22 nm. Furthermore, this study suggests that the addition of high ratio of the TiO2 nanoparticles can lower the electrical resistivity and consequently, elevate the electrical conductivity of TiO2@PANI-AA-o-PDA core-shell nanocomposites. The zeta potential of a particle, the y-intercept, and the polydispersity index were estimated by means of measuring dynamic light scattering of the terpolymer colloidal system.
