- W2512243949 abstract "Abstract : The purpose of this research was to improve of the conceptual understanding on the multiplication and division fractions through the implementation of the Kumon Method assisted by visual media in the fifth grade students of State Primary School Bratan I No.71 Surakarta academic year 2015/2016. This research was a classroom action research conducted in two cycles. Each cycle consists of four steps : planning, implementation, observation and reflection. The subjects of this research were the teacher and the students in fifth grade students of State Primary School Bratan I No. 71 Surakarta totaling 37. The data sources of the research were the teacher and the students. The data collection techniques were interview, observation, test and documentation. The data validity techniques were the triangulation of sources and the data gathering technique. The data analysis technique was interactive analysis technique that consists of three components namely data reduction, data display and conclusion. The results of the research shows that there was an improvement of the conceptual understanding on the multiplication and division of fractions views from the average value of students test scores, it was 63.95 in pre-action and the number of the students who fulfilled the minimal completeness criteria becomes 32.4% and the number of the students when increased in the first cycle with the average value was 69.86 and the minimal completeness criteria was 67.56%. Furthermore, in the second cycle the average value increased again into 74.45 and the students who fulfilled the minimal completeness criteria was 86.48%. Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pemahaman konsep perkalian dan pembagian pecahan melalui penerapan metode Kumon berbantuan media visual pada siswa kelas V SD Negeri Bratan I No. 71 Surakarta tahun ajaran 2015/2016. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian tindakan kelas yang dilaksanakan dalam dua siklus. Setiap siklus terdiri dari empat tahap yaitu perencanaan, pelaksanaan, observasi dan refleksi. Subjek penelitian ini adalah guru dan siswa kelas V SD Negeri Bratan I No. 71 Surakarta yang berjumlah 37. Sumber data berasal dari guru dan siswa. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan teknik wawancara, observasi, tes dan dokumentasi. Teknik validitas data yang digunakan adalah triangulasi sumber dan triangulasi teknik. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah teknik analisis interaktif yang mempunyai tiga komponen yaitu reduksi data, penyajian data dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian tindakan kelas ini menunjukkan adanya peningkatan pemahaman konsep perkalian dan pembagian pecahan dilihat dari nilai rata-rata kelas nilai tes pemahaman konsep perkalian dan pembagian pecahan yaitu pada pratindakan nilai rata-rata kelas sebesar 63,95 dengan persentase ketuntasan klasikal sebesar 32,4% kemudian meningkat pada siklus I dengannilai rata-rata menjadi 69,86 dan ketuntasan klasikal sebesar 67,56%. Selanjutnya meningkat lagi pada siklus II dengan nilai rata-rata menjadi 74,45 dan persentase ketuntasan klasikal 86,48%.
