MSIROF produces robust and accurate estimates of multi-dimensional image shifts that outperform existing methods. Moreover, its multi-scale nature enables it to capture large shifts and overcome cycle-skipping in oscillatory images such as seismic images. We applied this tool to both synthetic and field data and showed its effectiveness for handling seismic image matching and gather flattening.
