- W2519715002 abstract "Objective: Foot ulcer in patients (pts) with diabetes is associated with an increased risk of limb amputation. And the primary purpose of treatment for ischemic foot ulcer is limb preservation. To know predictable factor is very important before and after percutaneous transluminal balloon angioplasty (PTA). We evaluated important prognostic factors in patients underwent successful PTA during 1-year clinical follow up. Design and Method: Between April 2004 and June 2014 total 237 consecutive PTA pts who underwent successful PTA for below-the-knee (BTK) lesions were enrolled; among them, 195 pts (82.3%) were male. The mean age was 67.6 ± 9.2 years. Pts have both above-the-knee and BTK were excluded. Patients with serum low-density lipoprotein cholesterol concentrations of at least 140 mg/dL, high-density lipoprotein cholesterol concentrations < 40 mg/dL, triglyceride concentrations ≥ 150 mg/dL, or patients who were taking lipid-lowering medication were defined as having dyslipidemia. One year target lesion revascularization (TLR) was evaluated. Results: At 1-year follow-up, dyslipidemia (HR 4.153; 95% CI, 1.145–15.066; p = 0.030) was independent predictors of TLR following successful PTA of BTK in diabetic foot ulcer patients (Table). Conclusions: Dyslipidemia is important prognostic factor of TLR following successful PTA of BTK in diabetic foot ulcer patients. Therefore blood lipid control is very important treatment clue diabetic foot ulcer patients." @default.
