- W2521478785 abstract "Background and aim: Adolescence is one of the most sensitive and critical stage of life. This study aimed to determine the effect of logo therapy on adolescents' self-esteem and happiness in Qom city. Methods: This research was an experimental study with pretest-posttest design. The study sample includes of 100 girls studying in Qom high schools, in educational year of 2013-2014. By using cluster sampling, 40 students among them selected and were put in two study groups. Self-esteem (Copper Smith) and happiness (MUNESH) questionnaires were used for data collecting in two pre-test and post-test stages and multivariate covariance was used for data analysis. Findings: Using t-test, the mean scores for self-esteem and happiness after logo therapy were increased in the intervention group (p=0.001). Using Multivariate Analysis of Covariance, scores of total self-esteem (p=0.001), public esteem (p=0.037), educational self-esteem and family self-esteem (p=0.001) was statistically different between the two study groups. But social self-esteem score has not significant different between two study groups (p=0.84). The One-way Analysis of Covariance showed that the logo therapy resulted in a significant increase in happiness score in the intervention group (p=0.008). Conclusion: Logo therapy increases adolescent girls’ self-esteem and happiness by helping them to discover the real self, the individual values and meaning of life.
