- W252176949 abstract "Abstract A manipulator tracking a given path in a perfect way performs a motion with one degree of freedom only. Transforming the nonlinear set of equations of motion to this one coordinate, for example some path parameters, results in ordinary differential equations which are linear with regard to the square (ś) 2 of the path velocity ś. From these equations a geometrical solution for the time-minimum case can be constructed. The various stages of these developments have been published in various papers. The paper as presented here will give a discussion of the geometrical properties of the equations of motion transformed to a path parameter s. These equations represent a subspace in the [(ś 2 )', (ś) 2 , s] - space, where the bounds stem from the torque-or force-constraints in the joints. This subspace is generated by (2f) ruled surfaces, where f is the number of joints of the manipulator. The properties of these ruled surfaces decide the design principles for the time-minimum solution of the robot's path tracking, which will be explained in more detail." @default.
