- W2525646852 abstract "The establishment of percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) has dramatically changed revascularization in coronary artery disease. A limitation of PCI is the elopment of in-stent restenosis (ISR), defined as re-narrowing of the stented segment. The rate of clinical ISR for drug-eluting stents (DES) is estimated at 5-10%. A number of clinical risk factors have been identified, including renal disease. End-stage renal disease (ESRD) requiring kidney replacement therapy affects close to 40, 000 Canadians. Cardiovascular mortality accounts for 50% of deaths in this patient population. The mechanisms leading to accelerated atherogenesis is thought to be different in hemodialysis (HD) and peritoneal dialysis (PD) patients, therefore rates of ISR could also be different. The objective is to compare the rates of ISR in HD versus PD patients in Manitoba." @default.
