- W2527694174 abstract "The purpose of this study is to examine how moral codes affect ethical perceptions, using data from a population of salespeople in Turkey. Specifically, a sample of sales managers and non-managers was surveyed in order to determine the particular moral codes they use to resolve ethical dilemmas, and these responses were correlated with responses to specific ethical dilemmas. The three moral codes considered are egoism, religiousness, and altruism. The study finds that the respondent salespeople do not use religiousness. Rather, egoism and altruism are the dominant moral codes they use. However, managers tend to rely more on altruistic codes and, conversely, non-managers rely more on egoistic codes. And the salespeople who tend to rely more on altruistic code have slightly higher ethical scores." @default.
