- W2529366905 abstract "The main objective of this paper was to optimize bio-diesel production from crude Jatropha oil by using conventional transesterification method. Optimization of parameters for reduction of Glycerals of Jatropha curcas oil and maximization of yield of Jatropha Curcas (JCB) biodiesel has gained importance for boosting the fuel industry and improving the production efficiency of biodiesel. A three - level - five factorial Box - Behnken using Response Surface Methodology (RSM) was employed to optimize the process variables for maximizing the Jatropha Curcas yield. From the analysis of variance (ANOVA), the most influential parameters on biodiesel production were catalyst concentration and reaction time. The models can be successfully adopted in fuel industry to maximize the yield of methyl esters, thereby, improving the economy of the process. The prepared JCB conformed to the ASTM and IS standards specifications." @default.
