- W2529771204 abstract "Eikenella corrodens is a fastidious small Gram‑negative bacilli belonging to the HACEK group （Haemophilus spp., Aggregatibacter actinomycetemcomitans, Cardiobacterium hominus, Eikenella corrodens and Kingella spp.） . E. corrodens is considered to be weak‑ virulence and the infection is usually polymicrobial and associated with Streptococcus spp.. We experienced four E. corroden infection cases causing perirectal abscess septic arthritis right ankle right lower thigh open abscesses and right third and fourth fingers crush injury. The present four cases were polymicrobial infections associated with Staphylococcus spp. or Streptococcus spp.. These gram‑positive cocci were the most frequently detected in coexistent with E. corrodens. Isolated E. corrodens was susceptible to benzylpenicillin ampicillin third‑generation cephems tetracycline minocyclin clindamycin and new quinolones; and moderately susceptible to gentamicin; but resistant to cepharexin erythromycin and lincomycin. In vitro cultivation of E. corrodens isolates often induced colony morphology changes but such changes gave no infl uences on biochemical properties sensitivity against antibiotics or production of enzymes.
