- W2536702295 abstract "The advancement of ICT has blessed the human civilisation with “TELEMEDICINE” (Healing by Wire) and it has poised itself as the saviour in the Indian Healthcare delivery system as well. The magnitude and nature of ICT Infrastructure truly narrates the success story of the impact of Telemedicine capabilities of a nation. However, the extent of positive influence of Telemedicine technologies rests largely upon socio-political factors besides the accessibility, acceptance, implementation, and sustainability of such technologies. In the present paper, we have designed a research model, knocking Telemedicine Technology Users (Healthcare Professionals), using a survey (Questionnaire) method, in order to empirically evaluate, the impact of usage of various technical components on Telemedicine capabilities in India. The present and upcoming ICT infrastructure in India has paved a smooth runway from conventional Technical Components (POTS, low bandwidth ISDN or ATM) to the high speed optic fibre based broadband connectivity networks. Our endeavour, presents a critical appraisal of the already existing and the possible leverage of the advanced Technical components (especially in Indian context) exerting the desired effects on Telemedicine Capabilities. Our exploratory study not only depicts a marked improvement in existing Telemedicine capabilities but hints at the potential advancement and sustainability of the same as well." @default.
