Objetivo: Avaliar os efeitos de um programa de Exercicio Fisico Aerobio combinado com Exercicio Fisico de Forca, sobre a qualidade de vida e a composicao corporal em sobrevivente de CM. Materiais e Metodos: Participou desse estudo de caso uma mulher de 43 anos, sobrevivente de câncer de mama. Foram feitas avaliacoes da composicao corporal e da qualidade de vida antes e apos 24 sessoes de Exercicio. Realizou um programa de Exercicio Fisico, tres vezes por semana, de 30 a 60 minutos de duracao. Resultados: A participante melhorou a qualidade de vida nos dominios Capacidade Funcional, Limitacoes por Aspectos Fisicos e Vitalidade, quanto a composicao corporal, a participante aumentou a massa muscular magra, gasto calorico basal e manutencao dos demais componentes da composicao corporal. Conclusao: A pratica de Exercicio Fisico de Forca combinado com Exercicio Fisico Aerobio e segura e viavel, alem de uma estrategia de baixo custo operacional e logistico que pode auxiliar na melhora da qualidade de vida e da composicao corporal em sobrevivente de Câncer de Mama. ABSTRACT Effect of exercise on the quality of life and body composition in a breast cancer survivor: a case study The breast cancer is the most diagnosed type of cancer among women and the second most diagnosed type in the world, representing around 1.7 million cases diagnosed in 2012. The literature suggests that physical inactivity contributes to worsening health in breast cancer survivors and the risk of mortality from all causes and from breast cancer among the survivors is higher in those who have a sedentary lifestyle, compared to those who are physically active Objective: To evaluate the effects of an Aerobic Exercise program combined with Strenght Exercise on the quality of life and body composition in breast cancer survivor. Materials and Methods: Participated in this case study a woman breast cancer survivor of 43 years. Evaluations were made of body composition and quality of life before and after 24 Exercise sessions. She completed an Exercise program three times a week, 30-60 minutes long. Results: The participant improved the quality of life in the domains of Physical Functioning, Physical Role Functioning and Vitality, for body composition, participant increased lean muscle mass, basal energy expenditure and maintenance of the other components of body composition. Conclusion: The practice of Exercise Strength combined with Aerobic Exercise is safe and feasible, and a low operating cost and logistical strategy that can help improve the quality of life and body composition in breast cancer survivor." @default.
