Tungsten has the advantage to provide sufficient depth for containing high energy showers, while limiting the diameter of the surrounding solenoid. To test such a detector in realistic conditions, a large fine-grained HCAL prototype with tungsten absorber plates and scintillator planes read out by silicon photomultipliers was tested in particle beams at CERN. First results of the analysis of low momentum (p <sub xmlns:mml=http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML xmlns:xlink=http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink>beam</sub> ≤ 10 GeV) electron, pion and proton data are presented. The analysis includes energy resolution measurements and studies of shower shapes. The results are compared with several GEANT4 simulation models." @default.
