• W2547673709 abstract "The change of terrain parameters with resolution of DEM (Digital Elevation Model) is one of research hotspots in the research fields of hydrology and soil erosion. However there is a lack of scientific explanation on mechanism of this phenomenon. In this paper, a typical Loess Hilly area in the Loess Plateau was taken as study area. Geostatistics and Digital Terrain Analysis (DTA) were used in order to model the semi-variogram of elevation surface. Components with specified spatial frequencies of varied resolutions (10m,25m,50m,100m) were modeled using semi-variogram and mapped by kriging to help identify the corresponding landscape components. By doing this, the change of a certain landscape component with resolution of DEM was investigated and the reason for terrain parameters changing with DEM resolution was given. The results showed that there were more higher frequency terrain information lost than the lower frequency terrain information with resolution of DEM reduction, and the loss of higher frequency information was the reason for terrain parameters changing with DEM." @default.
