- W2549285931 abstract "Traffic flow planners have to consider that the optimization for minimum length (ore time) traffic flow layouts is not only a matter of shortest or fastest paths (cost crite-rion here called “routing cost” = “travel expense”): The traffic density of all the flows themselves traversing a road constitutes the important cost criterion “road charges” making a pure routing cost-layout the less attractive the more the traffic dense increases (noise, pollution, capacity, toll, traffic calming, security risk (combat areas),..). The forthcoming algorithm tackles this problem. It is essentially based on a path finding strategy that provokes flow line attraction / repulsion dependent on traffic density. This paper compares the Traffic Flow Layout Problem TFLP with QSAP, GSPG, and GTPGP. The algorithm regards the simultaneous optimization of: Optimal Placement considering the search for the best places (of a set of admissible places each flow start or end) to assign optimally sources / sinks to the road net points. Minimum Traffic Cost as to time or length of the connection paths embedding the flow lines between the preferred positions of admissible placements for the starts and the destinations Minimum Road Charges as to the traffic dense related to traffic downshift, pollution, noise, risk management, ." @default.
