- W2549668781 abstract "The present work aims to prepare bright nickel from liquid ammonia solution containing chloride. The effect of sodium benzenesulfinate concentration on the current efficiency, electrochemical nucleation behavior, crystallographic orientations and surface morphology at macro and micro level of the electrodeposited nickel were studied systematically. Results show that the introduction of sodium benzenesulfinate can efficiently transfer the black nickel to smooth, compact and dense nickel. X-ray diffraction revealed that the (111) plane is the most preferred plane and is not affected by the presence of SBS in the electrolyte. Electrochemical measurements show that the deposition potential of nickel moves to more negative direction and the cathodic current decreases with the presence of sodium benzensulfonate. Moreover, sodium benzenesulfinate has a great influence on the crystallization and nucleation growth behavior of nickel, making the nucleation mechanism transfer from instantaneous to progressive and therefore reducing the nucleation rate." @default.
