• W2550043934 abstract "Objective: To evaluate the reliability and validity of Stroke Impact Scale 3.0 (SIS 3.0), a quality-of-life scale specific to stroke, in Turkish stroke patients. Material and Methods: One hundred two patients were included in the study. The reliability was assessed by internal consistency (Crohnbach α) and test-retest methods (intraclass correlation coefficient (ICCC)). Validity was assessed by correlation between Brunnstrom stages, MiniMental State Examination (MMSE), Beck Depression Inventory (BDI), Functional Independence Measure (FIM), Short Form-36 (SF-36), and subgroup and total scores of SIS 3.0. Results: The mean age of patients was 61.5±12.5 years; 52.0% of the patients were male, and 48.0% were female. For all the subgroups and total score, Crohnbach α values were >0.70, and ICCC was 0.947-0.999. With regards to validity, significant positive correlation of the total scores between Brunnstrom stages, MMSE, FIM, and SIS 3.0 and negative correlation between BDI and SIS 3.0 were detected (p 0.05), between other subgroups of SF-36 and the total scores of SIS 3.0, a positive significant relationship was found (p<0.05), while there was no correlation between the pain and general health subgroups. Conclusion: The reliability and validity of the Turkish version of SIS 3.0 was shown; hence, we believe that it may be useful in the follow-up of stroke patients and in clinical research." @default.
