- W2550961307 abstract "Urban legends are narrations that spread towns customs, beliefs and popular traditions. They often leave morals which main objective is to instruct, inform or improve people is moral values; however most of the time public does not focus on its message. Therefore, it is important to take advantage of urban legends teachings in order to disseminate and promote good social values and positive behavior, avoiding negative conducts, such as arrogance which is very common nowadays. The aim of the current research was to evaluate the necessity of spreading, through short animated videos, Ecuadorian Urban Legends that will contribute to values, moral and prosocial behavior education. This research was conducted in Quito. Specifically, at two educative centers: Luciano Andrade Marin High School and Dolorosa de Fe y Alegria School and two popular neighborhoods: El Condado and Carcelen. Instruments applied were questionnaires about the relationship between Ecuadorian Urban Legends teachings and arrogance. Results have showed that most quitenos consider current society as an arrogant society and many do not know about Ecuadorian Legends morals.
