- W2551657564 abstract "Increasingly e-health solutions and specifically eHealth applications (health apps) combine interactive persuasive technologies [1,2] with behaviour change systems [3]. Within the field of mobile health (mHealth) these technologies can be used for influencing human behaviour and empowering users to gain or maintain a healthy lifestyle. However, such health apps are relatively new emerging technologies and also come with expectations and worries with respect to their unknown and unintended effects and related ethical issues that might arise from their design or distribution. In this presentation I will discuss how health apps can raise issues on matters such as privacy, autonomy, liability and division of responsibilities among stakeholders. In addition, I will discuss potential ways of developing e-Health applications in a more responsible manner, taking into account ethical, legal and social preconditions for e-Health9s acceptance.
