- W2555109499 abstract "The results of studying the efficiency of pre-sowing seed treatment by a new vegetable-based preparation Bius based on fir extract and Usnea lichen extract in decreasing the infestation rate of spring wheat plants by common root rot and increasing grain yield are presented. Field trials were conducted on medium loamy leached chernozem in the forest-steppe of the Priobye (the Ob River area). The effectiveness of a new preparation Bius was compared to that of a chemical fungicide Raksil. The infestation of plants by common root rot was monitored at tillering stage and milky ripeness stage; the monitoring was differentiated by root organs. It has been found that the studied preparation is comparable by its effectiveness to the chemical fungicide, it suppresses the development of pathogens by 44% (tillering stage) and 39% (milky ripeness stage), and increases productivity by 13.8%; spring wheat grain quality is improved (protein content increased by 0.4%). The preparation Bius has a pronounced growth stimulating effect and exceeds the chemical fungicide Raksil by this parameter. Greater amount of aboveground and root biomass was accumulated at flowering stage with Bius application as compared to the control (by 11.3% and 14.6%); with Raksil application by 3.5% and 4.5% respectively. The thousand-kernel weight after seed treatment with Bius increased on the average by 6.4%; that was greater than after Raksil application (by 5.2%).
