• W2556444144 abstract "Alumina films containing gold metal nanoparticles have been prepared by cosputtering technique under various deposition conditions. The formation of Au nanoparticles is confirmed by X-ray diffraction data and the presence of the plasmon resonance in the optical absorption spectrum. The results show that the size of the gold nanoparticles increases linearly in the range 1.27 - 7.34 nm by varying gold-to alumina surface ratio (�� ���� /���� 2�� 3 ) from 1.3% to 10.5%. With the sputtering argon pressure increasing from 2.10 -3 to 10.10 -3 mbar, the lattice parameter of Au nanoparticles shows an anomalous dependence on size, and the measured peak wavelength of the surface plasmon resonance (SPR)was found to redshift from 492 nm to 517 nm, while the size decreases from 3.5 nm to 2.20 nm and then increases to 2.9 nm. An anomalous blue shift in peak position of SPR band absorption with the increase of gold nanoparticles size is observed. The measured and calculated peak position of the SPR exhibits a linear dependence with lattice parameter. The growth processes of AuNPs and the influence of the size and the lattice contraction on the SPR peak position shift are discussed." @default.
