- W2556750401 abstract "The research was conducted to know the effect of the using omega-3, omega-6 fatty acid and cholesterol synthetic on sperm quality, testes and uropygium size of male quails(coturnix coturnixjaponica). The research used 175 male quails at 6-wk old these were divided into 7 feed treatment groups. These are; R-0 (control), R-1 (0.163 mg omega-3/100g bw), R-2 (0.362 mg omega-3/100g bw), R-3 (0.163 mg omega-6/100g bw), R-4 (0.326 mg omega- 6/100g bw), R-5 (20 mg cholesterol/ 100g bw), and R-6 (40 mg cholesterol/ 100g bw). The treatment was given orally for three periods, over 10 days. The data from observations of out put from different testes and uropygium sizes were analyzed descriptivelly, by value or the observated result between the control and the treatment groups. The sperm quality data (sperm motility, sperm morfology, sperm viability and sperm concentration) was analyzed with Duncan Multiple Range Test (DMRT). The out put of this research showed that : The using of omega-3, omega-6 fatty acid with double dose (0,326 mg) showed the best responce, which were the significant increase of the testis and uropygium weight, height, diameter and volume. The using double dose (0,326 mg) omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acid or begin 0,163 mg omega-3 and omega-6 gave a good quality of sperm, like sperm motility (78.30 and 78.30%), living sperm amount (73.19 and 86.06%) and sperm concentration (250,00 x 109/ml and 255,30 x 109/ml). The conclusion of this research : The using of 0.326mg omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acid affected the improvement of reproduction organs, especially testes and uropygium size. The using of 0,326 mg omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acid or 0.163 mg can affect to increase male quails sperm quality.Key Words: Omega-3, Omega-6, Cholesterol, Testes, Uropygium, Sperm" @default.
