Don DeLillo’s novel entitled The names , as happens in all the novels of American author, shows many of the great problems facing contemporaneity, but among them here gradually stands out the crisis of proliferation of metaphors in our time. As has shown anthropology from the early twentieth century, the metaphor has a strong performative character, which makes it one of the fundamental axes on which revolve around the possible interpretations of cultural phenomenon. That question has been studied, initially from very different positions, by Fredric Jameson and Richard Rorty, in both cases reaching similar conclusions." @default.
