• W2565566202 abstract "Dynamic Software Product Lines (DSPL) engineeringhas emerged as a promising strategy to develop SoftwareProduct Lines (SPL) that incorporate reusable and dynamicallyreconfigurable artifacts. The central purpose of DSPL is to handleadaptability at runtime through variability management, as wellas to maximize the reuse of components. Emerging domainssuch as the mobile applications and software-intensive embeddedsystems require changes and extensions to the design in terms ofboth functionality and adaptation capabilities. DSPL should alsodeal with the unavoidable changes, which reflect both user needsand execution environments. However, the evolution capability inDSPL so far has not been investigated in depth. In this paper, wereport on an exploratory study aimed at evaluating the objectorientedand aspect-oriented solutions on DSPL evolutionaryscenarios. In this empirical evaluation, the aspect-oriented solutionyielded better results in terms of measurements such asWeighted Operations per Component (WOC), Lines Of Code(LOC), Lack of Cohesion Over Operations (LCOO), Couplingbetween components (CBC), and Response For a Class (RFC). The use of aspects indicates that it provides assets with lowercomplexity, lower coupling, and higher cohesion." @default.
