- W2566063399 abstract "Purpose: to describe and characterize the insertion of language area in the Brazilian Health System (SUS). Methods: the casuistic was composed of 14 speech therapists responsible for the speech and hearing therapy sector of six public hospitals rendering some type of tertiary assistance. A standardized questionnaire, consisting of 16 open and closed questions was used. Results: 57.1% of the professionals had specialization, 21.4% had master’s degree; the area of major performance is Orofacial Motricity with 92.9% and Language with 71.4% and finally the Voice area with 64.3%. 57.1% did not have any course, conferences or postgraduate studies in Public Health. The phonologic deviation was the alteration type concerning the attended language that had higher percentage, 80%, followed by language delay with 70%, aphasia 60 % and reading and writing disturb with 50%. The physiological dysfluency with 30% and stuttering with 40%, were the less attended alterations. Conclusion: there is still a need for higher insertion of speech therapists in the public network; as well as for investments in the speech therapy area and Public Health." @default.
