• W2567057120 abstract "Conservation of Voltage Reduction (CVR) technology is getting fame globally to achieve the reduction in peak load demand and energy consumption in the distribution network. In this paper, a smart grid enabled CVR scheme for Volt-Var control (VVC) operation has been proposed. The proposed scheme operates with the help of Volt-Var control & optimization (VVC&O) functions of the advance distribution management systems (ADMS). In CVR, the effect of end users loading pattern has a crucial role. So an accurate load model is required to check the effectiveness of CVR. Impact of voltage-dependent load models such as constant impedance, current and power (ZIP) and Nominal Linear P, Quadratic Q (feeder mix) load model on CVR operation with have been carried out with different voltage reduction level. An additional reactive power support has been injected through optimally placed capacitor banks during the deeper level of voltage reduction to maintain voltage profile within the limits. For analysis of CVR effect an IEEE 13 nodes test feeder of unbalanced radial distribution network has been considered. The test system is simulated in OpenDSS interfaced with Matlab environment. From simulation results, it has been demonstrated that significant peak load demand reduction has been achieved with different loading patterns during the CVR mode. However, more power demand and system losses can be reduced within regulatory voltage limit through CVR and additional reactive power support." @default.
