- W2571349322 abstract "Population studies in the United States indicate that there are over 40 million people over 65 years of age. Age-related cognitive decline and their associated neuronal disorders have been shown to disturb neurological processes such as memory, learning, and the ability to perform spatial tasks. While there have been countless drugs created to reduce or mask symptoms associated with aging, there are also various physical therapies that improve memory by augmenting the brain’s own neuroprotective mechanisms. Numerous studies attest to the observation that physical exercise significantly improves cognition, memory, learning, and motor function diminished both by aging and disease. Exercise appears to induce neuroprotection by targeting multiple biochemical and genetic pathways, and by triggering morphological and physiological changes in various cells throughout the brain. Exercise, by promoting such alterations, plays a strategic role both in reversing cognitive deficits and in preventing such damage from occurring due to age or disease." @default.
