- W2580101756 abstract "Clinically, Balint's syndrome is the co-occurrence of three symptoms: optic apraxia, optic ataxia, and simultanagnosia. Optic apraxia was initially described as ‘pseudoparalysis of gaze’ without accompanying eye movement deficits. Optic ataxia is a deficit in reaching to the location of an object that is otherwise seen without accompanying motor deficits. Simultanagnosia is inability or inefficiency in perceiving more than one object at a time. Selective attention and visual feature integration are also compromised. Balint's syndrome leaves the patient functionally blind but without the resources of the blind to compensate. Occipital parietal disruption bilaterally is associated with this cluster of deficits." @default.
