- W2580771819 abstract "Objective To investigate the frequencies of HLA-A03 supertype (HLA-A03s) alleles and their impact on HIV-1 viral load.Methods Polymerase chain reaction-sequence specific primers (PCR-SSP) and sequence-based typing assay (SBT) were used to genotype HLA alleles to four-digit resolution on 222 patients with HIV infection.Then the correlations between viral load and the frequencies of HLA-A03s and its corresponding alleles were analyzed.Results Of all 222 patients with HIV-1 B' infection,146 (65.77％) subjects carried at least one A03s allele.The median viral load of subjects with HLA-A03s was 17 900 copies/ml,which was significantly lower than that of subjects without HLA-A03s (35 760 copies/ml,P=0.0005).Subjects carrying HLA-A * 1101 (Mann-Whitney U=8994,P=0.0096) or HLA-A * 3001 (Mann-Whitney U=4048,P=0.0139) allele showed lower viral loads than those without the two alleles.Conclusion HLA-A03s,HLA-A * 1101 and HLA-A * 3001 alleles were associated with lower plasma viral loads in patients with HIV-1 B' infection.Key words: Human immunodeficiency virus; Human leukocyte antigen; Supertype; Viral load" @default.
