- W2585264582 abstract "The development of specific and sensitive analytical devices for biological analysis relies on the ability to design advanced surfaces enabling a controlled interaction with biomolecules. Pushing forward the controlled biomolecules absorption down to the nanoscale, (e.g. by the creation of biomolecules nanoarrays), makes possible the study biomolecules – surface interactions on the same length scale of the biomolecules. Also it is possible to exploit the “special” chemical-physical properties of the nanostructured materials for triggering the protein absorption and for detecting the proteins interacting with the surfaces. In view of those strategic applications and fundamental studies, a large technological effort is done for the development of advanced nano-patterning techniques. In this paper we propose a new method for fabricating chemically nanostrucured surfaces based on colloidal lithography and low pressure plasma processing. Each step of the nanofabrication process has been morphologically characterized by Scanning Electron Microscopy together with the study of their interaction with model proteins. Finally, the immunoreactivity of the nanostructured surfaces have been tested and compared with non-structured surfaces by using ELISA assays." @default.
