This work is funded by CNES, the French Space Agency and TAS France, the Prime Contractor of EGNOS V2.We consider the accuracy in the estimation of the ionospheric delay (GIVD for Grid Ionospheric Vertical Delay). An indicator of the GIVD estimation quality is the GIVDe (Grid Ionospheric Vertical Delay error), available on the IGP grid (Ionospheric Grid Point). In this paper, we are interested in evaluating the difference between the GIVDe maximum on the IGP grid and the unknown GIVDe maximum over the area covered by the grid.The GIVDe is modeled by a Gaussian field. Two solutions are proposed and compared: firstly a Kriging model which furnishes an estimation of the GIVDe for all the area and then for the maximum. Secondly, our new approach is developed. This method is inspired by the Slepian models and consists in a local approximation of the field near of the unknown true maximum point. Using this method, we are able to give a limit conditional distribution for the discretization error and then furnish an asymptotic bound for this error." @default.
