However, two kinds of French female images with totally dif-ferent characteristics are presented by Kundera: kind and submissive vs. independent and brave. The aim of this paper is to explore French female images by analyzing the metaphorical meanings of “angel” and “navel” and meanwhile reflect on the changes occurring in female identity and thought." @default.
