The two dyes were identified as Chlorophyll and Betalain from their characteristic absorption spectra. The photo electrochemical properties of dye sensitized solar cells using natural pigments containing Chlorophyll and Betalain was investigated in this work. The results indicate that the Chlorophyll dye shows a maximum photocurrent density of 1.3 mA/cm2 with an energy conversion efficiency (η) of 0.53%. The Betalain dye showed a photocurrent density of 0.87 mA/cm2 with energy conversion efficiency (η) of 0.23%. The better performance of chlorophyll dye as sensitizer for dye sensitized solar cells was supported by electrochemical impedance spectroscopy and bode plot measurements." @default.
