- W2592217357 abstract "A novel structure based on differential boost inverter (DBI) and ladder structure of switched-capacitor (SC) is studied in this paper, which is designated as switched-capacitor differential boost inverter (SCDBI). The proposed inverter allows gains higher than unity and it extends the conversion rate of boost-type inverters. Hence, the insertion of the switched-capacitor extends the converter gain and thus it enables the minimization of the characteristic gain limitation in relation to losses of the boost converter. Furthermore, the series connection of more SC cells can improve the converter gain; thus a generalized structure is proposed in this study, which employs “k” SC cells. The proposed inverter is intended to be used in applications whenever an ac voltage larger than the dc link voltage is needed, as UPS, photovoltaic (PV) systems or even off-grid renewable energy supplies. Topology, principle of operation, ideal static gain, static gain considering the losses, generalized structure and simulation results are included in this paper." @default.
