• W2593485373 abstract "Resumen The exclusion of youth from education and employment context is a problem that could damage their mental health and have repercussions in behavioral problems like the use of drugs. The objective of the study was to explore the perception and significance that some young Mexicans have about their exclusion condition and their substance use. Method: qualitative study in which twelve young people were interviewed through a theoretical sampling, and were contacted by the snowball technique, and others were interviewed in a treatment center. Results: For young people to study and then work is not a life expectancy, everyone from his experience and individuality recognize that unemployment is not a free condition, chosen or circumstantial; their discourses show a complex phenomenon of the social system where the crisis of institutions (family, school, work) leaves young people in a vulnerability situation, excluded and exposed to risks such as drug use. Conclusions: The social exclusion of young people is derived from the crisis of institutions, where drug use may be a catalyst to give meaning to their lives, favoring segregation and marginalization." @default.
