The identification of the isolates was performed by microscopic and macroscopic characteristics of the colonies. It was determined that a total of 100 samples of adults with clinical signs of dermatophytosis, 79 % were positive for fungi while 21 % resulted negative , the agent most frequently isolated was Trichophyton rubrum with 35% of the patients, followed by a 33% by Trichophyton mentagrophytes was isolated , 16% with Microsporum canis, Trichophyton tonsurans 13% and 3% Epidermophyton floccosum. Predisposing factors that favored the acquisition and development of this type of fungal infections in this population were inadequate household waste disposal 85 %, regular use of closed shoes 65 % and 59 % hand washing results obtained from a survey of.Keywords: Superficial fungal infections, ringworm, dermatophytes." @default.
