The gap distance between the plates was short compared to the capillary length, so the surface curvature increased with decrease of the gap distance. The meniscus was not heated and the thermal relaxation time of the plates estimated to be small. The evaporation rate and flux, obtained from time-evolution of vapor pressure in an experimental enclosure, could increase with increase of the curvature between the plates. Based on the comparison among the existing data including ours, it was clear the evaporation rate and flux could be organized by a curvature, not a perimeter (a contact-line length)." @default.
